The moment was here at last.
Our town had waited eagerly for the opening of the new location. Before, you had to travel over to the next state. Or maybe someone would bring it over when they visited, but it didn't taste good after a long ride in the car.
Sitting down at the booth, the numbered flag stood tall: a signal for where the restaurant worker would deliver the goods.
The anticipation was worth it as the busyness of the kitchen indicated that the food would be as fresh as possible.
Finally, a filled tray entered into my field of vision.
It reached its final destination.
The toasted bun,
the crispy vegetables,
and the savory meat.
They united as one delicious ensemble, a symphony of smell, texture and flavor all found in one bite. Alternating with the crunchy circles and sweet and sour sips, the meal was complete.
There are no words to replicate the experience of enjoying a satisfying entree. You just had to be (eat) there. Nonetheless, learning how to describe strengthens the memory of your moments, enabling you to share with others.
There's always detail to be captured.
